Rooftop Garden

2022 - 2023

In collaboration with a client for a rooftop terrace, I created a garden design that featured four planting areas at two different heights constructed from retaining walls, each with a cantilevered bench. The north side matched the curve of the building, while the south side featured planting beds arranged to wall off the area. Cutouts for lighting fixtures and outlets were also added in coordination with the onsite electrician.

Constraints:

• The individual pieces must fit on a 10’ x 5’ sheet of metal to be able to be cut on the CNC laser

• Match dimensions from the onsite landscape architects

• Individual sections needed to be able to be lifted by crane to the rooftop.

• Walls reinforced to ensure proper support for cantilever benches

• Ten day design window
